Meals Information

Our charter schools participate in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs.  In order to serve meals during a closure, the school or agency must have been approved for a special Summer Food program, and regrettably, we are not.  We will post opportunities for meals for students in our community here.  We are grateful to the schools and agencies willing and able to provide meals to all children!
C.Roy Carmichael School is providing meals. All children under the age of 18 are qualified.  They have set up a meals to-go station in front of the CRC cafeteria Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30-10:00 AM. Additionally, the district announced meals could be picked up at bus stops.  A schedule for each community can be found on their meal service page here.
The Herlong "One Stop" officially know as Fort Sage Family Resource Center is working on a plan for sharing food.  We'll update the information as it is announced.  Meanwhile, you can visit their website here.
Lassen County Schools are working together to ensure that all students have the opportunity for two FREE meals a day.  Any child who is between the ages of 1-18 will receive a lunch for that day and a breakfast for the following day.  The school sites listed below will be open Monday thru Friday from 11:30 – 12:30 for meal pick up.  These school sites will be operating a drive thru service where you will need to have your children present to receive these two free meals.   Based on USDA meal requirements the child must be present to receive meals.  This means that parents will not be able to pickup meals without their children present.
The following locations will be open to pick up food:
  • McKinley Elementary School
  • Meadow View School
  • Diamond View School
  • Lassen High School – Main parking lot entrance near the Gym
For surrounding community members, Lassen Union High School will be providing meal drop-offs at current bus stops for any child who is 1-18 years.  County staff will attempt to be as close to the listed times on the schedule as possible, but in order to feed all children, please make sure that they are at the bus stop on time, if not 5 minutes early.  Please check the delivery schedule on the Lassen High School Facebook page. The schedule is here.
